Thanks a Million Campaign (Phase Two)
We're thrilled to share updates on the groundbreaking mental health initiative launched by Cricket South Africa (CSA) in August 2023. 🧠💚 In collaboration with leading mental health organizations, the project has entered its second phase, marking a significant step towards fostering positive change in our communities.
👏 The journey began with a three-day training course in Pretoria, where 20 coaches from the Gauteng province, affiliated with CSA's development Hub programme, underwent training to provide vital support to underprivileged communities facing mental health, substance abuse, and other social challenges.
🌱 These dedicated coaches are now actively participating in monthly supervision sessions, honing the skills acquired during their training. The commitment to ongoing development showcases the project's dedication to making a lasting impact.
🚀 Now, the spotlight shifts to the Western Cape, where the second cohort of 27 coaches received training at the iconic Newlands Cricket Ground from 08-10 November 2023. The partnership between CSA, Ubuntu Addiction Community Trust (U-ACT), and The Corporate Butterfly continues to thrive, fueled by the positive results observed during the first phase.
🌍 The overarching goal of the initiative is to leverage mental wellness and addiction recovery to address systemic issues affecting our communities, with the aim of creating a profound and sustainable positive impact at their core.
